Conceptual Review for Exterior Changes and Additions

BACKGROUND:
Janet Nemanic is seeking final review for exterior alterations and additions to a contributing structure. This project will be separated into two phases with the first pertaining to the front view of the home. This phase will involve replacement of the front doors and front windows with mahogany entry doors and secondary doors which will appear as windows. The house will be painted PPG “Wood Smoke” and lights will be mounted on each side of the main doorway. The second phase will be the side and rear addition to the home. Much of the addition will conform with existing materials with a matching brick base, matching handrails, and matching roof materials. The siding for the addition is proposed to be smooth profile Hardie. A conceptual application was initially denied by the board in January 2022 with encouragement to resubmit revisions based on the board’s comments. Much of those comments concerned treatment of the front porch which has since been revised to better meet the surrounding architecture of the historic district.
