SUMMARY:
From January 2022 through June 2022, the Charter Review Commission (CRC) held a series of meetings. As a result of those meetings, the CRC voted on a final report of recommendations for amendments to the City Charter.
On June 27, 2022 City Council conducted a workshop to discuss the recommendations contained in the CRC’s Report as well as discuss any potential amendments City Council, as a body, would like to put forth.
This Special Council Meeting, that began on July 11, 2022, will continue those discussions as well as make a determination which amendments to the current City Charter will be placed on the November 8, 2022 General Election ballot.
With the meeting of July 11, 2022, being recessed, to be reconvened on July 19, 2022, the listing of proposed amendments from the original document was updated to include the ballot language as provided by City Attorney Peppler.
