Demolition of a Contributing Structure

end

BACKGROUND:

Carter Quina is requesting approval to demolition a contributing structure. The building in question is the Dennison Building, which was built in 1923, but has been significantly altered along the west façade. Since the building is considered a contributing structure, the board must find that the structure either noncontributing to the district or that unusual and compelling circumstances which justify its demolition existing. The applicant has submitted an inspection report to speak to the building’s condition as well as a report of the building’s history. A conceptual review of what will replace the building will be considered in the next agenda item.
