SUMMARY:

Florida Department of Environmental Protection created the Florida Resiliency Program on May 12, 2021 by way of Bill 1954, which provides a comprehensive, coordinated approach to enhancing inland waterways, coastlines and shores, which serve as invaluable natural defenses against sea level rise.

The City of Pensacola desires to provide citizens with health and safety while providing opportunity to mitigate flooding hazards by creating resilient flood plans for its residents and it is in the best interest of the City of Pensacola to use two funding awards, with city required matching funds, for flood mitigation purposes in the areas of 9th avenue and Main Street.
