SUMMARY:

In accordance with the Section 3.28-3.33 of the Policies of the City Council, prior to any distribution of grant or sponsorship funds from the City Council Discretionary Funds, approval by City Council is required.

Twisted Motorcycle Club Pensacola, Inc. is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to improving the “biker image”.  The Club focuses its attention on community involvement through annual events, special programs and promoting a positive, safe motorcycle riding atmosphere.  They will be hosting their second fundraising event for the “Twisted Motorcycle Club/Southern Motorsports Safety Company’s Scholarship Fund”.  Through their school district partnerships, local deserving high school graduating seniors are identified and presented with scholarship monies to assist in their higher learning academic goals.  Funding will used towards this scholarship program.

Pensacola High School is one of the two high schools within the City of Pensacola limits.  The majority of the student athletes in the Pensacola High School Football Program do not come from households that can afford to contribute financially and therefore most money that is raised has been used for uniforms, equipment, field maintenance and game-day staffing rather than needed projects to rehab, repair and enhance the facilities. Funding will be used to offset some of the costs for the team gear for the football program.
