HEARING REQUIRED: No Hearing Required
SUMMARY:
City Council, with the approval of the FY 2018 budget appropriated $1,500,000 for the West Cervantes Street Corridor. These funds were to be used to pay the City’s portion of a Feasibility Study and for short term safety improvements within the Corridor.
The City has entered into an Inter-local Agreement (ILA) as well as a Local Funding Agreement (LFA) with Escambia County for the Feasibility Study.
Currently both City and County are awaiting a safety study from FDOT regarding the corridor; once that study is released, the City will be in a position to implement short term safety improvements based on FDOT recommendations.
This Resolution solidifies Council’s intent to allocate the funds remaining within this line item for the implementation and placement of short term safety improvements within the W. Cervantes Street Corridor.
