RECOMMENDATION:

That City Council award a contract to McCullough & Son for ITB No. 21-026 Kiwanis Dog Park for $94,600.00, and a 10% contingency of $9,460.00 for a total amount of $104,060.00.  Further that City Council authorize the Mayor to take all actions necessary to execute all contracts, related documents and to complete the project.

SUMMARY:

                                          

The City issued an invitation to bid on the Kiwanis Dog Park project.  The project will consist of removing and disposing of the existing fence, installing appropriate fencing per scope of work, installing ADA compliant sidewalks, removing and disposing of pre-existing equipment, and installing site amenities.

 

The base bid of $94,600.00 includes removal and disposing of existing fence, light poles, etc., installing fencing to create the dog park including gates, installing sidewalks, and installing park benches, picnic tables, water fountains, an agility course, and other amenities.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

                     

Within the Community Development Block Grant Fund (CDBG) $326,009 has been appropriated for this project.  To date, $183,811.15 has been expended on this project leaving a balance of $142,197.85 which is sufficient for this contract and other estimated expenses.
