SUMMARY:
The City of Pensacola cares about its environmental impacts and is working hard to take steps towards reducing negative impacts associated with government operations. In an effort to divert waste from our landfills, lower the City’s GHG emissions, and conserve natural resources, staff has met with National Energy USA, LLC (an environmental engineering firm based in Pensacola). The purpose of this meeting was to evaluate a potential recycling facility in Pensacola to lower GHG emissions, conserve natural resources, and save taxpayer dollars. Staff and representatives from National Energy will present a summary of state-of-the-art materials recovery facilities and offer a case study on the economics and environmental benefits of these facilities.
