CONDUCTING THE DISTRICTING PROCESS

SUMMARY:
In accordance with City Charter Section 6.08. Districting, “…the commission shall consult the City Council and the Supervisor of Elections and shall prepare a plan for dividing the City into districts for the election of Council Members.”
On May 13, 2021, City Council appointed a Districting Commission; after consultation with the Supervisor of Elections, the 2020 Census numbers have come in and the Commission is ready to begin the process of preparing a plan for Council consideration.
This discussion item continues that process.
