That City Council approve contracting with Engineered Cooling Services for the installation of Needlepoint Bipolar Ionization units by means of the National Cooperative Purchasing Alliance (NCPA) Contract 2022-8735694369 in the amount of $132,815 for City Hall and NCPA Contract 2022-6909862297 in the amount of $84,006 for the Pensacola Police Department. Further, that City Council authorize the Mayor to execute the installation proposals and take all actions necessary to complete the project.

SUMMARY:
The City Council previously adopted a resolution that appropriated funding from the American Rescue Plan Act for facility ventilation system improvements. These facility improvements will take place within City Hall and the Pensacola Police Department. On May 18, 2022 the City received quotes for the installation of Needlepoint Bipolar Ionization units by Engineered Cooling Services (chosen vendor) per NCPA Contract 2022-8735694369 for City Hall (QUOTE #:Q-01-2022-241295) and NCPA Contract 2022-6909862297 for the Pensacola Police Department (QUOTE #: Q-02-2022-244390). These ventilation units are anticipated to reduce particulates, kill pathogens, neutralize odors and provide energy savings within these facilities.
PRIOR ACTION:
June 17, 2021 The City Council adopted Supplemental Budget Resolution No. 2021- 36. Appropriating funding in relation to the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) for (1) the recovery of revenue loss, (2) grant compliance and administration and (3) facility improvements.
Per the resolution, planned facility improvements at the City will include adding UV air handlers at various City facilities.
