REMOVAL OF TREES AT 2660 CREIGHTON ROAD
end
SUMMARY:
On January 13, 2022, Jonathan Bilby sent an email to Council Member Sherri Myers regarding a pending permit to remove a large grove of trees located at 2660 Creighton Road, in order to build a car wash. On the same date Council Member Myers visited the site and noticed that most of the trees are tagged for removal. All trees are oak trees believed to have been planted when the shopping mall where Walmart is located was developed. The trees present a nice aesthetic feature along the sidewalk of Creighton Road. The removal of the trees will decrease the tree canopy in what is already a hotspot of commercial development. Furthermore, the company known as Freddy's has removed all of the trees from along the sidewalk that were planted at the same time as the 2660 Creighton Road trees. Freddy's is located next to the lot where a carwash is slated to be built.
