SUMMARY:
The People to People Program, now recognized as Sister Cities International was inaugurated by the President of the United States in 1956 to establish greater friendship and understanding between the people of the United States and other nations throughout the world through the medium of direct contact.
The City of Borobia, Spain is the birthplace of Don Tristan de Luna y Arellano. With the City’s vast Spanish heritage that is deeply reflected throughout Pensacola with many historic plazas, fort sites, and landmarks; along with the Fiesta of Five Flags celebration where Don Tristan De Luna is the central figure of the celebration, establishing a Sister City relationship with De Luna’s birth City is desired and appropriate.
