That City Council approve funding of $500 to the Grace and Mercy Community Outreach from the City Council Discretionary Funds for District 6.

SUMMARY:
In accordance with Section 3.28-3.33 of the Policies of the City Council, prior to any distribution of grant or sponsorship funds from the City Council Discretionary Funds, approval by City Council is required.
Grace and Mercy Community Outreach is a non-profit organization whose mission is to serve, empower and work with individuals in our community to improve their quality of life. Their transitional homes offer an affordable, sober, safe and crime free living space. In addition, the residents or provided with a tool set to bring themselves out of poverty and provide better lives for themselves, their children and/or family. Once a month their tenants, along with local volunteers, go back out into the community where they were once found homeless and give back by participating in their Direct Assistance program where they pack and serve light lunches for the homeless on Saturday mornings. Funding will be used towards their outreach programs.
PRIOR ACTION:
July 21, 2022 - City Council adopted Resolution No. 2022-065 establishing the City Council Discretionary Fund Policy
FUNDING:
Budget: $17,072 District 6 Discretionary Funds
Actual: $ 500 Grace and Mercy Community Outreach
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
A balance of $17,072 remains within the District 6 Discretionary Fund Account. Upon approval by City Council, a balance of $16,572 will remain in the District 6 Discretionary Fund Account.
