SUMMARY:
On June 14, 2021, the Community Redevelopment Agency approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Escambia County to develop a transportation master plan to be called “Jackson Street Reimaged: A Transportation Master Plan” for improvements to Jackson Street from A Street to Fairfield Drive, within the Westside community redevelopment area.
To supplement funding of the project, the CRA applied for and has been awarded a Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) Community Planning Technical Assistance Grant, in the amount of $40,000. The CRA must accept the grant to appropriate the funding.
PRIOR ACTION:
August 9, 2021 - The Community Redevelopment Agency approved the Fiscal Year 2022 Budget on Budget Resolution No. 2021-03 CRA.
November 15, 2021 - Approval of an Encumbrance Carryover Budget Resolution on Supplemental Budget Resolution No. 2021-07 CRA.
December 13, 2021 - Approval of the Contracts Payable Carryover Budget Resolution on Supplemental Budget Resolution No. 2021-10 CRA.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The City’s portion of the funding for the project is $90,000. Funding in the amount of $50,000 is available in the Fiscal Year 2022 Westside TIF complete streets budget. The DEO Technical Assistance grant will provide the remaining $40,000 in the City’s portion of funding. Escambia County will pay their portion of $210,000 directly to the consultant. Adoption of the supplemental budget resolutions by the CRA and City Council will appropriate the grant funds.
