That City Council declare the City-owned unimproved real property located at West Intendencia Street, Parcel Identification Number 000S009080014094, Account Number 153145000, as surplus and authorize the Mayor to engage the services of a real estate professional from the City’s list of qualified real estate professionals to market and sell the parcel.

SUMMARY:

                                          

The unimproved property located at West Intendencia Street has been identified as available for disposal. The parcel is located on Lot 14, Block 94 Maxent Tract with frontage on Barrancas Avenue and corner access to South “G” Street. The site is approximately 0.0800 acres and the parcel is zoned R-1AA, one and two family zoning district.

 

In October 1949, the parcel on West Intendencia was advertised and conveyed by Special Master’s Deed to the City of Pensacola in the final decree of foreclosure in the amount of $798.92 as recorded in Deed Book 309 at Page 518 of the public records of Escambia County on October 4, 1949.

 

To facilitate the sale of the property, a realtor will be engaged to market the parcel and respond to inquiries related to the sale of the property. An appraisal of the property will be conducted and once a buyer is identified, the proposal will be presented to City Council for consideration.

 

 

PRIOR ACTION:                     

 

September 8, 2009 - City Council approved the utilization of professional real estate services to market and sell property.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

                     

Costs associated with the sale of the property such as appraisals and closing costs will be reimbursed from the proceeds of the property sale. Additionally, the Westside Redevelopment Area will benefit from future tax increment financing revenue resulting from development of the property.
