SUMMARY:
In 2014 the State Legislature passed Florida Statute 166.0213 which states in part, “…The governing body of a municipality may hold joint meetings to receive, discuss and act upon matters of mutual interest with the governing body of the county within which the municipality is located or the governing body of another municipality at such time and pace as shall be prescribed by ordinance or resolution.”
The City Council and the Board of County Commissioners have agreed to hold a joint session on January 30, 2017. This session shall be held at 222 W. Main St., Pensacola Florida in the Hagler-Mason Conference Room and is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.
The adoption of this resolution fulfills the requirements of Fla Stat 166.0213.
This item meets City Council Rules and Procedures Section 2.08 in that this matter is time sensitive, passage needed prior to the Joint Meeting where another regular meeting of the City Council will not occur until after the scheduled Joint Meeting.
