SUMMARY:
The Florida-Alabama Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) will discuss the DRAFT Fiscal Year 2019-2023 Project Priorities at its June 14, 2017 meeting. In order to engage in a coordinated and unified effort to identify and support the City’s priorities, the Mayor’s Office is requesting City Council endorse the attached Project Priorities document. In addition to the Regional ITS Project, which is listed as Priority #1 (Table 2 of the attached document), the City has two projects on the list:
• Main Street (Barrancas Avenue to Clubbs Street) is listed as Priority #3, #6A, and #21 due to various sources of funding being utilized (Table 2 of the attached document). The scope of this project is contained within the “Main Street Corridor Management Plan” and incorporates a shared-use path, landscaping, streetlights, and bike lanes flanking each of the two travel lanes.
• Bayfront Parkway (Tarragona Street to Chase Street) is listed as Priority #20 (Table 2 of the attached document). The scope of this project is a reduction of the roadway to two lanes to accommodate a linear park along the water’s edge.
