RECOMMENDATION:

That City Council approve and authorize the Mayor to execute the acceptance of the State of Florida Department of Juvenile Justice grant not to exceed $28,801.80 for the Outdoor Recreation Instruction and Adventure Camp. Further that the City Council approve the supplemental budget resolution appropriating the grant funds. Finally, that City Council authorize the Mayor to take all actions necessary relating to the finalization of the grant award.

SUMMARY:
The Parks and Recreation Department will offer an Outdoor Recreation Instruction and Adventure Camp as a diversion and intervention program targeted towards the needs of youth who are identified as at-risk of being involved in the juvenile justice program. The Florida Department of Juvenile Justice will reimburse the City at $360.02 per youth for Outdoor Recreation Instruction, and $288.02 per youth for Adventure Camp, not to exceed $28,801.80.
