SUMMARY:

The City has received a request from Mr. Mick Novota for approval of an amendment to the Land Development Code pertaining to Section 12-2-6, the R-2 Zoning District Regulations that apply to Barber Shops and Hair Salons.  The subject Code Section was previously modified in 2016 to allow these uses as permitted within the district subject to their location along a four lane roadway.  The applicant is requesting that the language be amended to identify the roadway classification “Major Urban Collector” rather than the physical characteristics of the roadway (four lane).

On June 13, 2017, the City’s Planning Board recommended denial of the request in a 3-2 vote.
