That the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) receive a presentation on Community Policing services provided under the interlocal agreement with the Pensacola Police Department.

SUMMARY:
On May 8, 2017, the CRA approved an interlocal agreement with the City of Pensacola for the purpose of providing Community Policing services within the Urban Core Redevelopment Area. Total funding for these services was approved in an amount not to exceed $150,000 for Fiscal Year 2018 and the remainder of Fiscal Year 2017.
Community policing is a policing technique or strategy designed to proactively address public safety concerns. It focuses on building ties and working closely with members of the communities. The Pensacola Police Department will make a presentation on strategies which will be implemented during the term of the agreement.
PRIOR ACTION:
May 8, 2017 - CRA approved an interlocal agreement with the CRA for the purpose of providing community policing innovations within the Urban Core Redevelopment Area for Fiscal Year 2018 and the remainder of Fiscal Year 2017 in an amount not to exceed $150,000.
