SUMMARY:
The United States Coast Guard is requesting a fee waiver for three (3) consecutive years in support of the visit of the USCGC Cypress, a 225 foot Coast Guard Cutter stationed out of Pensacola NAS, for the 2017, 2018 and 2019 Haunted Ship events. For the 2017 event, the Cypress will be berthed at Plaza de Luna from October 26, 2017 to October 29, 2017 and will offer haunted tours of their specially decorated ship. The vessel will attract numerous visitors and generate community excitement out of our ties to maritime vessels from Pensacola NAS.
The value of the waiver request for the 2017 Haunted Ship event is estimated at $3,028.38 for the 3-day stay. Based on the submitted 2017 USCGC Cypress’s Berth Application and current Port of Pensacola tariff rates, the total cost of the waiver request for the 3-year period is estimated at $9,085.14.
The United States Coast Guard will submit the required Berth Applications to CRA staff on an annual basis indicating the dates and duration of the berthing request and current vessel and ownership information for each year. If the request is approved, all affiliated docking fees will be waived. The 2017 USCGC Cypress’s Berth Application containing the waiver request along with a spread sheet detailing the cost breakdown is attached.
