That City Council award Bid #17-042 for construction of the Port of Pensacola Ferry Landing Landside Features to Green Simmons Company, the lowest and most responsible bidder with a base bid of $1,666,589 plus Add Alternates #1 and #2 for $171,000, for a total bid of $1,837,589 with a 10% contingency of $183,758 for a total amount of $2,021,347. Further, that the City Council authorize the Mayor to execute a contract and take all actions necessary to complete the project.

SUMMARY:

                                          

The Ferry Landing Landside Features construction project at Commendencia Slip, directly west of the Port of Pensacola, will include an iconic 1,110 SF ferry terminal building (1,785 SF with platform) housing ticket sales, rest rooms, operations, passenger staging area, and a louvered free standing rain shelter. The effort will also include extension of utilities to and onto the ferry floating dock, where the two National Park Service ferries will be homeported. The floating dock is being constructed under a separate contract and will be completed ahead of the Landside Features.

June 8, 2017 - Council action approving the Ferry Landing Waterside Features Contract to Bellingham Marine Construction dba Florida Floats Inc.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

                     

Grant funding in the amount of $2,722,798 has been appropriated for this project.  Additionally, $787,037 is available in the CRA Capital Projects Fund for a total appropriation of 3,509,835 for this project.  To date, $1,394,663 has been expended/encumbered for the A&E Contract, Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) and the Waterside Features leaving a balance of $2,115,172 to complete the Landside Features project.
