SUMMARY:

 

Recently, actions have been taken by a Council created and authorized Committee which has called into question the appropriate reporting and authorization procedures.

 

This item seeks to clarify this language as follows:

 

Sec. 6-2-3. - Duties.

The parks and recreation board shall advise and make recommendations to the city council on matters concerning parks and recreation. and shall advise the mayor's office via the director of neighborhood services on matters concerning the establishment, maintenance and operation of parks and recreational activities within the cityInformation on matters concerning the maintenance and operation of parks and recreational activities within the City shall be forwarded to the Mayor’s Office via the Director of Parks and Recreation. The board shall provide input on master plan updates and improvements, and policy development for the use of recreational facilities.
