A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PENSACOLA, FLORIDA REQUESTING MEMBERS OF THE FLORIDA LEGISLATURE TO CONSIDER NAMING THE NEW PENSACOLA BAY BRIDGE THE GENERAL DANIEL “CHAPPIE” JAMES, JR. MEMORIAL BRIDGE

SUMMARY:
As the first phase of the new Pensacola Bay Bridge nears completion, this Resolution seeks to encourage members of the Florida Legislature to consider naming the bridge The General Daniel “Chappie” James Jr. Memorial Bridge during the 2019 legislative session.
If approved, a copy of the Resolution will be provided to the Senate President, the Speaker of the House and members of the local Legislative Delegation.
Due to General “Chappie” James’ many accomplishments and ground breaking endeavors, it is fitting that the Florida Legislature consider naming the new bridge after him.
