SUMMARY:
The PEDC was established through the adoption of a legislative act in 1989, amending Chapter 67-1365, laws of Florida proving for a change in the membership structure of the PEDC.
This item requests an additional legislative amendment to the Statute and will be provided to the Legislature for potential action during their 2019 session.
At the December 13, 2018 meeting of the City Council, the following substitute motion was approved:
A SUBSTITUTE MOTION was made by Council Member Sherri Myers, seconded by Council Member Cannada-Wynn that City Council tentatively accept the proposed legislative amendments, with amended language as approved by the Escambia County Board of County Commissioners, to the PEDC statute being presented to the Legislature during the upcoming Legislative session pending final approval at the January 17, 2019 City Council Meeting.
