DISCUSSION ITEM
FROM: City Council Member Jewel Cannada-Wynn
SUBJECT:
title
REVIEW OF STORM WATER MANAGEMENT MASTER PLAN, STORM WATER ASSESSMENT AND STORM WATER FUND USES.
end
SUMMARY:
In November of 2000, City Council established the storm water assessment fund as well as the requisite assessment. City Council, on a yearly basis, approves this assessment.
During the 2018 budget workshop discussions, it was learned that the ordinance (as written) does not adhere itself to funding of flood related issues.
Public works is currently finalizing a plan to address “quantity” water issues. The purpose of this item is to engage in a discussion of the Storm Water Management Master Plan, the Storm
Water Assessment Fund, the Storm Water Assessment and the enabling language to possibly amend in a way that will allow for the use of a portion of the current fee assessment for flooding related problems within the City. This discussion will coincide with a presentation / update from Public Works Director Derik Owens.
