Construction of a New Residential Duplex
end
BACKGROUND:
recommendation
Frank Daughtry is requesting final design approval for a new residential duplex. This project was approved by the Board in July 2019 but denied in November 2020 after design changes. The plans and minutes from that meeting have been included for comparison. As drawn, the proposed structure is located within the buildable area of the lot and it complies with the current Land Development and Building Codes. The proposed duplex will be a two-story residential structure with a usable attic and a number of architectural features from the primary structure have been incorporated in the new. Materials will include Hardie siding and trim, Neuma French glass doors, 2/2 wood-clad double hung windows, and “Weathered Wood” architectural shingles. The stairs, rails, and decking will be wood and the columns will have fiber cement cladding with a fiber cement capital and base. The color palate has been chosen from Benjamin Moore’s Historic Colors which consists of “Wythe Blue” siding and “Antique White” trim.
