SUMMARY:

As part of the $2 trillion CARES Act, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program was allocated $5 billion.  As an Entitlement Community, the City received $452,160 in CDBG-CV Program funds.

On September 24, 2020, City Council approved an amendment to the CDBG FY 2019 Annual Action Plan which identified activities to support low and moderate income households prevent, prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus.  These activities include assistance to service organizations and funds to provide one-time or short-term subsistence payments in the form of rent, mortgage, and utility payments on behalf of qualifying households.

HUD has approved the plan amendments and allocated grant funds for the program implementation.
