That City Council consent to the Mayor’s appointment of Eric Randall as Police Chief of the City of Pensacola in accordance with the City Charter Section 4.01(a)(7).

SUMMARY:
City Charter Section 4.01 (a) (7) - Powers and Duties of the Mayor states:
(7) To appoint the head of each department, with the consent of the City Council by an affirmative vote of a majority of City Council Members.
After a nationwide search and due diligence conducted by Gary Peterson with Public Sector Search, City administrative staff, the Mayor presents for your consideration and consent, Eric Randall as his appointee for the Police Chief of the City of Pensacola.
Currently, Eric Randall is Assistant Chief of Police, Investigations Bureau with the Newport News Police Department, Newport News, Virginia.
Chief Randall brings a wealth of knowledge regarding community policing and strategies along with a desire to become part of the City of Pensacola team.
