Demolition of a Contributing Structure

BACKGROUND:

SMP Architecture is seeking approval to demolish a structure currently listed as contributing. However, previous comments from the ARB Advisor and a closer look at the construction of the building indicates that it is likely noncontributing. If the structure is noncontributing, the applicant is not required to seek approval of replacement plans prior to receiving a demolition permit so long as the board does not find any historical, cultural, architectural, or archaeological significance. If no significance is found, a demolition permit may be issued per Sec. 12-3-10(1)j.
