SUMMARY:

Many sections of the City's Land Development Code (LDC) were drafted a number of years ago and are in need of being updated in order to more accurately reflect current policies or practices.

These proposed revisions to the LDC have a twofold goal. First, they codify language for items that have been enforced for quite some time without actually being included in the LDC. This results in a vast improvement to the clarity and efficiency of the engineering review process. Second, this new language provides a common sense approach to the permitting of developments that have a negligible impact to the City’s stormwater quality or quantity. These changes maintain the City's focus on ensuring the well-being of our prized water bodies, wetlands, and smaller water bodies that feed them while aligning us more closely with the Statewide stormwater rules.

On October 12, 2021, the Planning Board unanimously recommended approval of the proposed amendments in a 4-0 vote.
