Addition of Rolldown Shutters at a Noncontributing Structure

BACKGROUND:
Mr. Robertson is requesting approval to install electric rolldown shutters on two garage door openings at the rear of a noncontributing structure. This project was denied at the August 2022 meeting with comments that the applicant could return if research showed that there were no other reasonable options. The homeowner has provided a letter detailing his research. After further discussion with the installer, the motor box is now proposed to be mounted to the interior which will save any impact to the exterior brick. They will also be coated in a matching color.
